As most of you probably know, I am into loom knitting. I found a great site and a great loom knitter, Isela Phelps aka Purling Sprite. She is a great teacher and gives freely of her talent and her patterns. Here is one that I want to do: Drop Stitch Scarf, she includes a video of how to do the stitch, I am a visual learner and videos are always a plus for me. This scarf is light and airy, it would be perfect for the cool evenings and nights around here, even in the desert with the hot days, once the sun goes down, it can cool off quite a bit.
Right now I am making a eyeglasses case found in this book, Loom Knitting Primer: A Beginner's Guide to Knitting on a Loom, with over 30 Fun Projects, the challenge for me are the buttonholes, I have a great pattern and I hope that by the time I am finished with this project, I'll be an expert at making buttonholes on the loom. It also uses a different stitch, the knit and purl, you knit one, then purl one, but as you go from row to row, you do two rows the same, then alternate the first stitch on the second two rows, it's K1P1 on rows one and two, then P1K1 on rows three and four, then repeat. That makes a double moss stitch, it's pretty. I picked this project specifically to learn how to make buttonholes, and I needed a eyeglasses case too. I'll post a picture of it when I am finished.
Go check out Isela's site, if you are in to knitting at all, you will enjoy her site!
